Clarice Ethel Bierbaum passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, at Season’s Hospice House in Rochester. She was 87 years old.
She was born on September 19,1936 in Salem Township, Minnesota to Elmer and Ethel (Whitcomb)Fuchs. She graduated from Eyota High School in 1954. From there she went on to attend Westmar College in LeMars, IA. After graduating with a four-year degree in education, she taught in several towns in Minnesota, Iowa, Florida and overseas in Japan. Her favorite story was to tell how she sailed across the Pacific Ocean to teach children of American GI’s in Okinawa, Japan. In 1967 she returned to her hometown of Eyota to marry Earl Bierbaum. Together they raised two children.
Clarice was always active in her church and enjoyed leading Sunday school classes and Bible studies. She spent her free time reading books, quilting and crocheting. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family and getting together with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter Jill (John) Finnan and son Dirk (Kris) Bierbaum, granddaughters,
Alayna Finnan (Ross Wald) and Elissa Finnan; and grandsons Joe Bierbaum, Jason Bierbaum and Dan Bierbaum; and brother Stan Fuchs as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Earl; her parents; brother John Fuchs and sister Florence Life.
Funeral service is Friday, March 8th, 11:00 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Rochester with Pastor Brandon Black officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Eyota. The visitation is Friday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
