Shirley Ann Schoessler, 82, of Rochester passed away peacefully with family by her
bedside at Zumbrota Care Center on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.  She was
born September 12, 1937 to Henry and Elizabeth (Hardt) Frank in Shephard,
Montana.  Shirley graduated from Laurel High School and attended college in Billings.
Shirley was baptized and confirmed in the Congregational Church in Laurel where she
was an active member in the Sunday School and Youth Programs as well as the
church choir.  That is where she happened to meet Everett Schoessler, the substitute
church organist, and the rest is history.  They were married in the Laurel Church on
June 23, 1957.Following their move to Yankton, South Dakota for Everett to attend
the Theology School, they began their life of serving churches in the ministry. Shirley
always had an active role as music director, and children’s program director each of
the churches they served. She also had an active role in the women’s organizations
as well as fund raising for major projects. Through the years their service led them to
churches in Plevna, MT, Sidney, MT, Torrington, WY, Odessa WA, and finally Eyota
and Millville, MN.  During those years their lives were bless with a daughter and three
sons and many wonderful friends at each of the churches.  In 1988, Shirley began a
career as an administrative assistant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and retired in
2004. She loved her job at Mayo and the people she worked with. Shirley enjoyed
spending time with all her grandchildren and was expecting her first great-grandchild
