Delores Irene Wehrs, 98, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Meadow Lakes
Senior Living in Rochester.
Delores was born October 15, 1920 in Farmington Township, Olmsted County
to Henry and Clara (Wanke) Thedens. She attended St. Paul School of
Cosmetology and worked as a beautition at Walker Beauty Shop in Rochester.
On June 7th, 1944 she married Orville Wehrs. After her marriage she became a
full time farm wife and they farmed near Elgin. They retired in 1985. Her
husband Orville died February 18, 1992.
Delores enjoyed doing embroidery, word search, furniture upholstery, playing
cards and games, making porcelain dolls and loved spending time with her
family.
She was a member of the Elgin Senior Citizens and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Delores is survived by her children; Carol (Charles) Austin of Rochester,
Bonnie Wimmer of Lake City, Ron (Patty) Wehrs of Rochester and John
(Tammy) Wehrs of Elgin; Son-in-law, Charles Matz of Sedalia, MO; 9
grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 8 step-great
grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and one brother Alfred (Ursula)
Thedens of Potsdam.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter Mary, 3
sisters, Frances Blattner, Evelyn Baker and Louella Mickow, 1 brother, Arleigh
Thedens and son-in-law, Fred Wimmer.
Funeral service is Tuesday, April 23, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Elgin with Pastor Terrilll Bramstedt officiating. Burial is at the Elgin Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Meadow
Lakes Senior Living and to Heartland Hospice for the outstanding care given to
Delores.
